Lynn's Ministry Trip to San Diego Dear Friends, This past week, Lynn spent several days in San Diego. She was there helping lead a training intensive with a number of the newer Student Venture staff who are going through their initial training. This particular training focused on helping them learn how to do motivational talks for athletic teams. They also learned how to plan and execute the follow-up outreaches that occur off campus after the talk.
On Wednesday night, the director of San Diego, Shawn, led an outreach for over thirty freshman football players. The boys feasted on pizza and played a sports trivia game. They heard from an older student about his involvement in Student Venture and then Shawn shared the gospel. The boys were very responsive. Almost all of them want to participate in a four week follow up Bible study.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support as we train volunteers and staff to reach young people. Please pray that these staff would take what they have learned and apply it. Dave and Lynn Meritt

One of the objectives of the training time was for the trainees to see and participate in as many team talks and outreaches as they could. It was exciting to be a part of God’s work in San Diego.
The women trainees also got to see Nicole speak to the dance team at one school and Jael speak to the field hockey team at another school. They also got to see Shelley conduct a follow up outreach with the freshman volleyball team at a third school.
