We hope you are taking time this month to give thanks. In the midst of a time when so much of what we may be hearing or experiencing may be negative, it is good to remember I Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Before we give you some brief ministry updates, we want to share some things our family is thankful for this year.
Justin: I am thankful for my family and friends, that God gives creativity so that we can invent cool stuff, and thankful for all the basic essentials of life. |
Jeremy: I am thankful for rolls at Roadhouse Grill, my family and friends, and my school.
|
Julie: I am thankful for parents because some kids don’t have parents and a place to live. I am thankful for where I live because we have the freedom to talk about God.
|
Jamie: I am thankful for rainbows and rain, for my parents and friends, the color purple and everything in the world.

Dave has been encouraged this fall as he continues to see fruit from the trip he took to Bolivia in August. Just last week, he got an update from one of our staff in Ecuador. Here is what he said.
“We want to share what God has been doing in this time through our department. Since the month of September we begin the work with secondary students through the movement Student Venture. Right now we are in two schools: T. W Anderson and Jim Irwin II where God has opened the doors. We are developing a project called "Youthful Transforming Leadership,” a workshop of three hours where we share the roles and responsibilities of a leader, based on the example of Jesus. The idea is to help adolescents and college students in churches to develop their leadership skills but at the same time to give input from the Word of God with the example of the greatest leader in history, Jesus. We hope to expand this to other churches and thus serve the body of Christ in this way.”
Lynn just returned from a ministry trip to Atlanta designed to help equip some of our new Student Venture staff. This event was similar to the one she attended in San Diego in September. One of the highlights of her time was helping with a middle school dodge ball tournament outreach. About 120 students were in attendance and almost 30 indicated that they trusted Christ.
Thanks so much for your investment in the lives of young people. We praise God for you!
