Over the past year, Lynn has travelled to New York, San Diego, and Atlanta to assist in Training Intensives for our new Student Venture staff. Earlier this month, she headed to Indianapolis for another one of these events, but this time she was in charge of the entire program. This involved designing the schedule and content, overseeing all the logistical details, and teaching a couple of sessions.
Here is what Ken, the director of Student Venture in Indianapolis, had to say about the training time. “From a City Director’s view, the time to focus anew on the vison and processes of discipleship is tremendous. Having Student Venture National lead gives me a renewed platform from which to teach and help in adjustments.”
There were also some more experienced staff in attendance. Kristin shared the following highlights. “I enjoyed being able to participate as senior staff. Enjoyed the renewed vision for what discipleship looks like under the Student Venture umbrella and having our team be challenged.” We are so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of equipping Student Venture staff and volunteers around the country. We trust you are doing well. We are busy with a variety of different activities right now. The boys just finished performing in The Matchmaker. Jeremy and Julie are playing competitive soccer and Jamie is on a recreational soccer team. Justin has started refereeing soccer this season. He is looking forward to the money he will earn. 
The focus of the time was discipleship. There were sessions on What is Discipleship, How Do You Create an Environment for Discipleship, The Discipled Student Profile, Materials for Discipleship, and How to Lead a Small Group/Leading a Small Group Discussion. Those in attendance seemed to really enjoy the content as well as the fellowship that they were able to experience. 
Jared, one of the new staff who attended the training, shared the following.“Connecting with other staff and sharing challenges we are facing and the discussion on creating an environment for discipleship were my highlights.”
