| Every student is looking for
fulfillment. To find it, they need to establish a balance in the three major areas of
their lives.

* The school helps to develop mentally -
through teachers, classes, homework and some extracurricular activities.
* School also helps you develop physically -
with coaches, through P.E. classes, sports and other activities
* The school isn't designed to help you spiritually.
However, who at school could help you develop spiritually? (your friends)
Student Venture is designed to help you and other
students help each other in the spiritual area.
To develop spiritually, an individual needs to
understand and apply two things:
1. How to have a relationship with the person who
made him, by knowing Jesus Christ.
2. How to develop that relationship with Christ,
resulting in a lifestyle that is pleasing to God.
[Here ask, "Has anyone ever explained to you
how to begin a personal relationship with God?" If not, go through the Four Spiritual
Laws. If so, find out the details of his conversion and share the gospel if in doubt.
However, if he is a Christian, explain that Student Venture offers ways he can grow in his
relationship with God. Proceed to the following diagram.]
Draw this diagram and explain it
something like this:
Student Venture offers different activities to help
students grow in their relationship with God, wherever they are.
1. The Student Venture meeting is to "come
see" what a relationship with God is about. Students active in Student Venture help
lead the meetings. It is a fun atmosphere, and through talks you will hear how God relates
to you.
2. The group Bible Study helps you learn about the
basics of your faith, and the training provides opportunity for you to grow and apply your
faith with friends, school, sports, and family. Another benefit is that you are with a
group of students you will most likely know.
3. Summer Getaways, FastBreaks and retreats give
further instruction in how to help your friends develop a relationship with God and impact
your campus for Christ! It is also fun and you build deep friendships with students from
your school, and other places too.
4. The Action Group is a group that takes action!
It helps you learn more of God, and how to influence your school for Christ. These
students also give leadership to the Student Venture meetings, and may lead Bible Studies
of their own.
[Question: To help you grow in your
relationship with God, which of these areas sounds most interesting to you? Give the
appropriate information, and follow up on their interest.] |
