Here are some ideas to help you know how to
continue your ministry in the summer months:
- Run a coed Bible study on the 10 Basic Steps (talk to your coach).
- Continue with your existing small group studies.
- Challenge returning college students to help out during the
summer.
- Once a month, have a meeting with all the students. Have a
theme for the meeting. The last meeting in August could be a "Back to School"
theme. Make the theme meeting a gathering event and not so much an outreach.
- Plan an evangelism day, especially to give teens that attend
the Getaway an opportunity to practice sharing their faith at
home.
- Build into leadership students: take them to a ball game, go
camping/fishing; eat dinner; meet to have a quiet time; have a mud fight or some other fun
activity; take them sharing.
- Offer fun activities for everyone such as a movie night or a
swimming party.
- Work together on service projects; serve those you hope to
target for future evangelism. For Example, serve watermelon to the football team
during their August training.
Also, ask your coach to review with you your Campus Plan for the fall. The summer is a
great time to raise money and begin to plan for fall outreaches and upcoming conferences. |
